Three Pillars

Sussex Police have determined three pillars of policing which, together, form a resilient structure for keeping us safe and tackling the issues which can affect our quality of life in Sussex.

Our main objectives are to detect and reduce criminal activity and to make sure our neighbourhoods are places where we can form strong, positive communities. Informing our activities in both areas is a commitment to wise spending. We are aware, with each financial decision we make, that we receive funding from our public so we try always to deliver the best service possible in ways which become increasingly smarter and more cost-efficient. The Three Pillars are;

Keeping People Safe

Catching Criminals
Cutting Crime
Dealing with Critical Incidents

Neighbourhood Policing

Being Visible and Accessible
Providing a Quality Response
Working with Communities

Best Use of Resources

With Motivated and Capable People
Being Productive and Effective
Spending Wisely
