A vacancy has arisen for a Researcher within the Intelligence Unit at the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SE ROCU).

The primary aim of SE ROCU is in co-ordination with the SE forces and other agencies to identify serious and organised crime activity affecting the region and to support forces with tactical options in accordance with the National Intelligence Model. The Intelligence Unit is a key feature of South East regional effort and has a vital role to play in building the Region's intelligence capacity and capability to tackle cross border serious and organised crime.

As an Intelligence Researcher at SE ROCU, you will work within a team delivering research products to assist with the prevention and detection of cross border serious and organised crime across the region, as well as contributing to the regional development of Organised Crime Group mapping. The role of the Researcher is pivotal in supporting the Intelligence Unit and the SE ROCU as a whole.

Your written and oral communication skills will support you in presenting your research findings in the form of reports, charts and verbal presentations. You will be expected to work on a number of tasks at once, being responsible for the research on a variety of operations alongside contributing to strategic work. Your personal responsibility and community and customer focus will see you achieve challenging deadlines, actively seek feedback to identify and share good practice across the organisation.

Experience of intelligence research within a law enforcement environment is paramount, as is specific experience of relevant IT, such as Microsoft Office, i2 Analyst's Notebook/ iBase and GIS crime mapping software. Specific experience of research in an operational setting is desirable.
