Proof of age

Photo

When you're buying something that is age-restricted (such as alcohol or cigarettes), the sales staff will need to confirm how old you are and they can't always do this just by looking at you.

Proof of age cards are available from a number of sources but you should always look for one that is accredited by the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS), which is supported by the Government, the British Retail Consortium, the Trading Standards Institute, police and major drinks industry associations.

Cards from recognised schemes carry the PASS logo as a hologram. For more information, please refer to the related links opposite.
