The minimum age for purchasing tobacco products is 18 years old, which is the same as for alcohol. This applies to both shop (over the counter) and vending machine sales.
Tobacco products include cigarettes, cigars, tobacco and rolling papers.
Selling tobacco products to someone under the legal age could result in a fine of up to £2,500.
