Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme
Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme
Threats to a child's safety are more likely to originate from someone known to them as opposed to a complete stranger, and the Child Sex Offender Disclose Scheme has been developed to respond to this.
The scheme will allow members of the public to ask the police to tell them about a person's record of child sex offences if they have concerns about that person's access to a child.
Disclosure will normally only be given to parents and guardians or those best placed to protect a child. However, third parties with concerns (for example grandparents, neighbours and friends) are also invited to use the scheme.
If you think a child is in immediate danger call 999 at any time. Your concern will be dealt with under existing child protection arrangements.
