Making off without payment

It is an offence under the Theft Act 1978 to dishonestly make off without having paid for goods or services, knowing that payment on the spot was required and expected. For example, driving away from a petrol forecourt after refueling a vehicle, without paying for the fuel.

Making off without payment is also commonly known as 'bilking'.
