A third of domestic abuse cases failed in 2009/10 because the victim either failed to attend court or took back their statement. Abusers know that prosecution can be a difficult and emotional process.
If you're being intimidated, frightened, harassed or threatened, or are having doubts about continuing, please tell the investigator or detective who's working on your case. We can support you. It's a criminal offence to intimidate a witness or anyone helping the police in an investigation.
