The police officer who first came to you will call you to tell you who's in charge of your case and how to contact them.
Although I would not wish to ever find myself in this situation again, I am very appreciative of the help that I received and am greatly impressed by your Officers. They are a credit to the Police Force.

If you're in Standard or Medium danger, one uniformed police investigator will work on your case. They will:
- Call you to let you know who they are and how to contact them.
- Think of a plan to make you safer, as well as any children you have.
If you're in High danger, one specialist police detective will work on your case. They will:
- Call you to let you know who they are, and how to contact them.
- Think of a plan to make you safer, as well as any children you have.
- Refer your case to the MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) meeting. The MARAC is a meeting that happens every month. Lots of different agencies, including Sussex Police, housing, health and probation, meet so that everyone has all the information and can work together on the best safety plan for you. For example, they may decide to have your doors reinforced, or to rehouse you in a different part of Sussex.
