Child Victims of Crime (CVOC) is the only national police children's charity and was founded in 1994 by the British Police Rugby Union section following the IRA bombing in Warrington. Since then the charity has provided comfort and support to more than 5,000 child victims of crime.

The charity is currently undertaking a Challenging Times Tour with Dominic Chambers, it's manager, and two other riders cycling to every police headquarters in England and Wales - a distance of more than 1,800 miles in seven days riding non-stop in a relay.

The ride has been organised to highlight the charity's challenging work and to raise money from each police force.

Dominic and his team arrived at Sussex Police HQ in Lewes and met Deputy Chief Constable Giles York and the Sussex CVOC liaison officer Superintendent Jane Rhodes who presented them with a cheque for £500 from Sussex Police Property Act Fund.

They money will be spent on child victims of crime in the county.  Mr York said: "This is a fantastic charity which does some incredible work with children and we are more than happy to support their work."

To date, 90 awards have been made to children who have been victims of crime in Sussex. As well as support, the awards range from funding for personal counselling, gift tokens and even family holidays including sponsored trips to Disneyworld in Florida.
