Sussex Police officers raise £10,000 for charity
Sussex Police Rugby Football Club has raised an incredible
£10,000 for local good causes in the past few months.
The Club donated £3025 to the Chestnut Tree House children's
hospice following a charity auction and raffle at the annual black
tie dinner.
St Wilfreds Hospice and Cancerwise both received cheques of £578
after the Club held a fundraising rugby match in memory of Eddie
Bristow who died from cancer last year. Eddie was a Detective
Constable who played for Sussex Police for many years. The game was
made up of the current Sussex Police Rugby team against a Sussex
Police President's side made up of players from years gone by. It
was a close fought game with the current Sussex Police team winning
32-31 with the last kick of the game!
The team are still collecting money from their mammoth Marathon
Van Pull. You can still donate money to Help for Heroes at JustGiving
