The Force's media activity is led by the Media Relations Office, part of the Corporate Communications & Public Engagement Department at Police Headquarters in Lewes.
Our dedicated Newsdesk is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. Here a team of Media Relations Officers (MROs) update on breaking operational news and take enquiries throughout the day, updating our Pressline service for journalists and providing useful information directly to the public on the News section of this website and on Twitter.
Each MRO is linked to a specific division or department, enabling them to provide an in-depth knowledge of their area and to promote news opportunities. In the event of a major incident or crime MROs provide an essential information flow to the media and the public; including pictures, interview opportunities and live updates if required.
A MRO is available on-call at all times - they will be mobilised by the Force Command and Control Inspector out of hours should their help be urgently needed.
