Burglary series investigated in Bognor

Police investigating a series of burglaries in Bognor are appealing for help from the public.

Since 1 January six burglaries have taken place which have resulted in several arrests. Four local men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary have been bailed pending further enquiries and one man has been arrested on suspicion of attempt burglary and bailed pending further enquiries. Two men have been arrested and charged with going equipped.

Detectives are still seeking another man in relation to the burglaries. He is described as white, approximately 6ft, 25-35-years-old, with short blond hair, with blue eyes and an Eastern European accent. He has been seen wearing a cream coloured jacket with a kangaroo-style pouch pocket and cream trousers.

All the burglaries have taken place during the daytime in the Servite Close and Annadale Avenue in Bognor Regis. The burglaries take place at both houses and flats where small electrical items, aftershave and clothing has been stolen. In some cases a holdall has been stolen from the premises to carry items away.

Detective Sergeant Michelle Auger of West Sussex Priority Crime Team said: "Detectives continue to investigate these burglaries and are keen to hear from anyone who may have information which may help us to end these burglaries.

"In these burglaries the offenders have generally entered the property through the front door. I would urge residents to make sure that their properties are secured during the day, ensuring that you dead lock the front door."

Przemyslaw Bacia, 25, of no fixed address and Grzegorz Blonski, 24, of Argyle Road, Bognor Regis, have been charged with going equipped for theft and were bailed to appear at Chichester Magistrates' Court on 20 January.

So far this year burglaries have taken place in Nyewood Lane on 6 January, Kenilworth Road between 3 to 18 January, Highlands Avenue on 12 January, Southdown Road on 15 January, Sevite Close on 18 January and Annadale Avenue on 24 January.
