30 January 2012

Police are seeking witnesses after a man was attacked in a Seaford club.

The 20-year old local man was in the Trek Club, Blatchington Road, Seaford, shortly before 2am on Saturday 28 January, when a fight broke out involving several people, in the course of which he was struck in the face by another man. He was taken by ambulance to Eastbourne District General Hospital where it was confirmed that his jaw had been broken. He was discharged from hospital on Saturday afternoon after an operation.

The suspect is described as white, about 5'11, with dark short hair, and in his mid-twenties. He was wearing a blue hooded top with writing printed on the front.

There were no reports of any other injuries and nobody was arrested at the time.

Detective Constable Claire Langley said; "We are still establishing what led up to this very nasty attack, which has left the victim with a most severe injury. We would like to hear from anyone who was in the club and saw what happened, or from anyone else who may know who the attacker is.
