Barrie Williamson charged with burglaries in Sussex and elsewhere

Barrie Williamson, 48, of no fixed address, appeared at Eastbourne Magistrates Court on Monday 30 January and was remanded in police custody for three days, having been charged with four dwelling burglaries in which, variously, jewellery and cash were taken, ie; Victoria Drive, Eastbourne, on 28 October 2011; Hangleton Road, Hove, on 19 September 2011; Goring Road, Worthing on 18 October 2011; and Belgrave Road, Seaford, on 24 October 2011.

He appeared again at the same court on Thursday 2 February, and asked for a further 39 offences of burglary committed on various dates between September 2011 and January 2012 to be taken into consideration.

21 of those further offences occurred in Sussex; six in Eastbourne, two in Seaford, three in Brighton, three in Hove, four in Worthing, one in Lancing, one in Shoreham, and one in Bexhill.

Of the other 18 further offences, one was in Lancashire, one was in Dorset, six were in Nottinghamshire, six were in Kent, and four were in Norfolk.

Wiliamson was remanded in custody to appear for sentencing at Lewes Crown Court on 17 April.
