Police appealing for witnesses to Wilmington RTC

Police are appealing for witnesses after three vehicles were
involved in a collision closing the A27 at Wilmington for three
hours today (Monday 6 February).
The incident happened at 10.50am on the A27 at the Wilmington
crossroads involving a Citreon Belingo van driven by a
47-year-old-man from Seaford, a Mazda RX8 driven by a man aged 22
from Eastbourne and a Renault Magan van driven by a 62-year-old man
from Portsmouth.
The drivers of the Mazda and Renault were trapped in
their vehicles followng the collsion and the road had to be closed
in both directions for three hours to allow emergency services to
release and treat the drivers. They were both taken to the Royal
Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious but not life
threatening injuries. The Citreon driver was taken to Eastbourne
District General Hospital with minor injuries.
