This note is circulated on behalf of West Mercia Police.
The trial of a former member of staff at schools in North Worcestershire and South Oxfordshire who is accused of sexually abusing pupils in the 1980s is to start next week.
Jonathan O'Brien, aged 55 (date of birth 18/12/1957), of Fairfield Road, Bosham, West Sussex, is charged with 23 indecent assaults and five counts of gross indecency.
The offences were all allegedly committed between 1982 and 1988. The victims were all aged between 10 and 16 and were pupils at the Oratory School near Reading and Winterfold House School in Chaddesley Corbett, near Kidderminster, North Worcestershire.
O'Brien has denied all the charges.
The trial starts at Chichester Crown Court on Monday, 18 November, and is expected to run until December 20.
West Mercia Police are requesting that the media do not encroach on the grounds or approaches to either school during the trial or cause any disruption that could have a negative effect on current pupils or their parents. Please also note that the approach to Winterfold House School is off a very busy road and therefore there are safety issues.
