UPDATE - Closed stretch of A24 re-opened
12 December 2012
Police have re-opened a three-mile stretch of the
A24 southbound in the Horsham area which was closed earlier today
(Wednesday 12 December).
Treacherous black ice on the road going south from the Robin
Hood roundabout just north of Broadbridge Heath to the Hop Oast
roundabout north of Southwater, Horsham caused at least 12 vehicles
to skid and crash from 9.45am. Police closed the stretch of
road.
No one was seriously hurt. A few drivers had minor
injuries and damage to their cars. The northbound lane of the
A24 remained open but traffic was heavy.
Police are advising drivers on this stretch of road to drive
slowly.
