Preston Circus closed during firearms incident in Brighton

Police closed the roads around Preston Circus in Brighton for around an hour on Monday evening (February 4) to reports of a man with a gun at a flat on London Road.

The call was made at 7.30pm and officers closed the roads in the area while a 30-year-old man was detained. He has been arrested for firearms offences and remains in custody this evening.

No-one was injured in the incident and Sussex Police would like to thank people for their patience while the roads were closed.
