11 February 2013
Police are appealing for witnesses to two burglaries in Crawley
that occurred overnight on Tuesday February 5.
One break-in happened on Winter Gardens in Crawley between
10.30pm and 7.45am, where the offender(s) gained access through the
back door. A Blackberry mobile phone and £20 was stolen, two bags
were also stolen but these were found discarded nearby.
The other happened on Burns Road between 11pm and 12.20am where
the offender(s) gained access via the front door. Various items
were taken from a jewellery box, including a distinctive necklace
with the letters NAWC engraved on it. £70 was also stolen.
Chief Inspector Justina Beeken said: "We would also urge
residents to always make sure their doors and windows are always
secure, and that keys are not hooked up near a door or window
making it easy for suspects to gain access."
Detective Constable Chris Mills added: "Anyone who saw anything
suspicious in these areas is asked to contact police on 101 quoting
serial 0160 of 6/2 for Winter Gardens or serial 0182 of 6/2 for
Burns Road."
