Two arrested following drugs warrant in Hastings

13 February 2013

At 10.30am on Monday 11 February police executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a house in Devonshire Road, Hastings.
The house was unoccupied and in the basement officers found between 100 and 150 cannabis plants in various stages of growth, and hydroponic growing equipment.
The potential value of the plants has not yet been assessed.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended to help make the area around the basement safe.
A 30-year old man and a 26-year old woman were arrested in St Leonards on suspicion of cannabis cultivation, and have been bailed until Saturday 18 May pending further enquiries.
