@pperrin Realistically if an effort has been made to dispose of this lawfully but the bin is full we wouldn't pursue this as flytipping

@sarahhighland Always, Rumours like these aren't helpful to anyone and sadly just spread fear and misinformation.

Attempted handbag snatch in Bognor

18 February 2013

Police in Bognor are seeking a man who tried to snatch a handbag from a woman in the street

At 10.20pm on Wednesday 13 February the 21-year old local woman was walking home from work through the underpass which leads from Longford Road to Gordon Road in Bognor. She saw a man walking from Gordon Road towards the underpass, and he was apparently on his mobile phone talking in a language not known to her. As he approached her he grabbed the strap of her handbag, which was on her shoulder, tugging it several times. However the woman resisted punched the man in the face. He let go of the handbag and ran off towards Longford Road.

The suspect is described as white, in his late 30's, 6' tall and of medium build with a bald spot on the crown of his head and the of his head is razor shaven. He had a tooth missing from the front right upper jaw (not from the punch), a tattoo on four knuckles on his right hand. He was wearing a brown leather jacket of quilted square pattern, grey track suit bottoms with two vertical grey strips down the leg, and black trainers.

The victim was shaken but unhurt and did not report the incident to police until Thursday afternoon.

PC Hazel Cox said; "If you were in the area and saw this man, or think you know who he might be, please call us via 101 quoting Serial 1141 of 14/2. You can also call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
