Care home handyman charged with sexual offences

Paul Brown, 55, a factory maintenance employee, of Clarendon Road, Hove has been charged with eight offences against staff and a resident at a care home in Brighton.

The charges include sexual assault and harassment of staff along with one charge of sexual activity with a mentally disordered female and a separate charge of voyeurism against the same woman.

Brown was arrested in December 2012 following reports to police from concerned members of staff. Some of the offences date back to 2006.

He has been bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on 1 March 2013.

Charges are as follows:

Five counts of sexual assault by touching against five female members of staff

One count of harassment against a female member of staff

One count of sexual activity against a mentally disordered female patient

One count of being observed doing a private act with an elderly patient
