Local priorities
At the last panel meeting held on 27th March 2012 members decided the policing priority should be speeding. This is on the A272 in Buxted heading towards the new roundabout at the junction with Framfield Road.
This panel decides the policing priority for not only Buxted but the larger area covered by PCSO Carter which includes hadlow Down, Maresfield, Fairwarp, High Hurstwood, Poundgate, Five Ash Down and Coopers Green and we are keen to enrol more panel members from these other villages. If you think this is something you could be interested in please contact PCSO Carter on the above details and he will be happy to discuss it with you.
The next panel meeting will be held in June 2012."

Crime Mapper
Go to Crime mapper site
Crime mapping is part of a national initiative to enable members of the public to be apprised of crime levels in their area. The Sussex Police system provides crime levels at three levels: Force-wide, Districts, Wards/beats
How to read crime mapping data
For some smaller areas, the crime rates may appear high. This is primarily due to the low resident population within these areas; crime rates are calculated by dividing the actual number of crimes by the resident population and then multiplying by 1,000. Crime levels are then calculated using standard deviation, a way of fairly measuring and comparing the spread of crime across the force from area to area.
