Operation Columbus
The towns & cities in Sussex are major tourist destinations and with the 120 mile
coastline, proximity to mainland Europe and the high number of quality language
schools its not surprising to find that it is host to many thousands of international
language visits each year.
COLUMBUS is a project created by Sussex Police designed to ensure the safety and
well being of international language students during their visits. The project
represents a partnership between police, language schools, student bodies and
local authorities which seeks to apply the best practice from lessons learned
