Coronavirus (Covid-19)Due to the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Surrey and Sussex Police Firearms, Explosives and Licensing Unit is unable to process new applications for the grant of firearm, shotgun or explosives certificates, unless these are for a genuine vocational or professional need. Please note, if you have submitted a new grant application since the beginning of September, we will continue to process this, but unfortunately we cannot give a time for completion of the application at the moment. We hope to resume the service for grant applications as soon as we safely can. Renewals and variation applications are still being processed.
