Sussex Police People's Voice
Representing people’s views across Sussex
We’re looking for people to join our newly-formed group which aims to represent people’s views across Sussex. You would need to live in Sussex and be happy to complete up to four anonymous, confidential, online surveys a year.
In the past, we have used feedback from surveys to help us to improve the way we keep victims informed and identify priorities within communities. So you can be confident that by taking part you will be making a difference to policing in Sussex.
Ideally, we would like you to commit to taking part for up to three years, but you can easily opt out at any time.
What will we need to know about you – and why?
If you sign-up we will ask you some questions, for example your postcode, age, lifestyle, and background. This is to ensure that we have a group which represents the voices of all the communities which live in Sussex. Of course, you can always choose not to answer, however, it’s important we ask these questions to check that we’re gathering opinions reflecting the whole population of Sussex.
Using this information enables us to find out if we are providing the right services to the right people, depending on their needs. If we are not, we really need to know so we can make changes.
All our surveys are anonymous and there is no way we can identify you from the responses you give.
Occasionally, some people choose to identify themselves within the survey, perhaps by giving an address or including their name. These details are always treated as confidential and removed from the report we produce about the results.
You can opt out at any time by simply clicking on the link provided at the bottom of every email we send.
To take part, please complete the two boxes at the top of this page. By doing this, you will be agreeing to receive up to four surveys, by email, per year.
What happens next?
We will acknowledge, by email, that you have successfully signed up to be one of our ‘voices’ and to give us your views.
Depending on the date you joined, it could be up to three months before your first survey. We will however let you know when you should receive it. Our surveys will always come from firstname.lastname@example.org and we will never share your details with anyone else.
You can make sure you always receive our messages by adding our email address to your ‘safe’ list.
After the closing date, we put together all the responses and create a report which is used to help make decisions on how services are provided in the future.
The overall results from our surveys will be published no later than three months after the closing date, and you will be able to see them on the results page.
