On 5 and 6 July 2023, the misconduct hearing for Officer A (‘the officer’) was held in public but members of the public were excluded from the hearing when medical matters involving the officer were being discussed, as per paragraph 11.97 of the Home Office Guidance. A Notice was published to that effect in accordance with the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 (‘the 2020 Regulations’). The Regulation 30 Notice was issued pursuant to the 2020 Regulations, and it was alleged that the officer had behaved in a manner which amounted to Gross Misconduct.
