Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for Sussex Police.

Sussex Police is committed to providing equality of opportunity and creating a diverse workforce that is representative of its community. We welcome applications from people with disabilities and our use of the Disability Symbol means that all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a volunteer vacancy will be interviewed and considered on their abilities. The Disability Discrimination Act defines disability as ‘a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long term effect on the person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities’.

If you indicate below that you consider yourself disabled in accordance with this definition in the Disability Discrimination Act and can demonstrate that you meet the minimum criteria for the post you applied for, you will be guaranteed an interview.

Do you consider yourself to be disabled as set out under the Disability Discrimination Act?

What skills and experience do you have, that you would be able to bring to the task? What motivates you? Why do you want to be a Police Volunteer Associate?
Are you a member of any outside organisation whose constitution, aims, objectives or pronouncements may contradict the duty to promote the force’s values, ethics, race equality and diversity?

Please indicate when you would be able to volunteer? (e.g. Mondays 9am – 12pm, Thursdays 1pm – 5pm)
