A man has been convicted of stealing thousands of pounds worth of stock in Crawley.
Police were called to a number of thefts and assaults in stores across Crawley between 28 May and 9 June.
Thierry Piron was arrested in connection with the incidents and later charged with eight counts of theft and two counts of assault.
It was heard that on 28 May he entered Next, County Oak Retail Park and Marks & Spencer, Acorn Park and stole stock worth more than £400.
He then entered Iceland, Dorsten Square on 3 June and left the store with alcohol and food without paying. He also assaulted a member of staff and a member of security staff, causing minor injury.
Piron’s offending continued on 6 June and 9 June at Iceland, Dorsten Square, Superdry, County Mall and Marks & Spender, Acorn Park, where he stole more stock worth hundreds of pounds.
He admitted all 10 charges when he appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 17 June. He has been remanded in custody.
Piron, 35, of no fixed address, is due to appear at a court to be fixed on 15 July for sentencing.
