Man charged after cyclist is seriously injured in Mid Sussex

A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving after a cyclist was injured in Mid Sussex.
At 4.50pm on Tuesday (April 13) police were called to Paddockhurst Road, Turners Hill following an alleged assault involving a car driver and a cyclist.
The cyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered significant injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
David Francis, 28, a mechanic, of West Hoathly Road, East Grinstead, was arrested and later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
He appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (April 15) and was remanded in custody to next appear in court on May 13.
