Man charged with arson after Pride flag was burnt in Brighton

A man has been arrested and charged with arson after a Pride flag was set on fire in Brighton, on Sunday (2 August).
Moulay Abdelhakim Ismaili, 36, of Beaconsfield Road, Brighton, was detained on suspicion of committing arson after after a Pride flag was taken from a garden in Beaconsfield Road, and the flag stick was set on fire and pushed through a nearby letterbox of a property at about 9.55pm. Fortunately no one was hurt.
Ismaili was remanded in custody to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (4 August).
