A police dog helped officers arrest two suspected burglars and return a haul of stolen property to its rightful owner – all within an hour of the break-in being reported.
A local business owner called 999 at 3.29am on 31 August to report two people trying to break into his shop in Station Road, Lewes.
Officers arrived at the scene at 3.33am and arrested the first suspect, a 14-year-old girl, at 3.35am as she tried to leave the property.
The second suspect, a 16-year-old boy, had fled the area but was soon tracked down by PD Hox and arrested at 4.19am.
All stolen items were recovered and returned to the shop.
Both suspects have now been bailed with conditions not to associate with each other or attend the location, and to engage with the youth offending teams.
