Teenager arrested after series of deliberate fires in Eastbourne

Police are continuing to investigate a series of deliberate fires in Eastbourne.
A number of wheelie bins were set alight in Eastbourne town centre in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, January 8 and again on Monday night (January 13).
Emergency services were also called to a fire at Seaside Medical Centre, Sheen Road, at 2am on Sunday (January 12).
Officers are checking and viewing local CCTV footage, and working closely with East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to find those responsible for these fires.
Police are urging residents with any information, including any suspicious activity that may have been captured on their CCTV doorbells, to contact police either online or by calling 101 quoting serial 62 of 12/01.

An 18-year-old from Eastbourne has been arrested on suspicion of arson. He has been released on police bail until February 1, 2020.
