Appeal after motorcycle stolen in St Leonards

Police are launching an appeal after a motorcycle was stolen in St Leonards.

The Honda motorcycle was taken from outside a property in Old Church Road at about 4.10pm on Sunday, October 23.

At around the same time, police received several calls from members of the public reporting incidents involving a group of youths, specifically that they were stealing a motorcycle.

The victim was alerted to the theft of the motorcycle by a neighbour. The youths were found with the motorcycle near Battle Road and were seen to be hitting it with a hammer.

The group then fled the scene when confronted by members of the public.

Officers searched the area, took witness statements, and recovered the motorcycle.
