Man charged with stabbing boy in Eastbourne

A man has been charged with stabbing a 15-year-old boy in Eastbourne.
Joseph Heavey, 30, unemployed, of Seaside, Eastbourne, appeared in custody at Brighton Magistrates Court on Tuesday afternoon 12 January, charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the boy outside an address in Seaside on Monday afternoon, 11 January.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 9 February.
The boy sustained a serious arm injury for which he is still receiving hospital treatment but his injuries are not assessed as life threatening or life changing.
The man and boy are known to each other.
Detective Constable Glen Saunders of Eastbourne CID said: "Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 551 of 11/01.
