Pedestrian seriously injured in Eastbourne town centre collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Eastbourne town centre.
Officers were called to Station Street shortly after midday on Friday (September 4) to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings. Her injuries are serious but not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of a specified drug over a specified limit, and on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody at this time.
