Witnesses sought to serious collision in West Chiltington

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision in West Chiltington.
Officers were called around 00.20am on Sunday 15 January to reports of a collision involving a Renault Clio and a parked vehicle on The Common.
The Clio’s passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and has been taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for emergency treatment.
The driver of the Clio left the scene. A 55-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving; driving whilst unfit through drink; and failing to report a road accident. He remains in custody at this time.
Officers investigating the collision are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, including anyone who may have captured any relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dash cam footage from the area.
