Operation Seabird aims to protect animals living on the coast.
It originally developed around the Flamborough Head European Marine Site (EMS) in Yorkshire because of the disturbance to animals caused by activities such as boating, fishing and jet skiing. Marine wildlife was being disturbed and causing unsuccessful breeding seasons.
Operation Seabird raises awareness and provides guidance about how simple changes in our behaviour could reduce disturbance to wildlife.
The operation is based on activities along the Yorkshire coast, which has now been adapted for different regions, species and types of disturbance.
If you see someone causing a significant disturbance to wildlife along the coastline you can contact us online.
