Hotel Watch is a scheme that allows police and anyone working at a hotel to share information, if they see something that doesn’t look right. The main aim is to find and identify missing people who might be at hotels, including:
You can sign up to Hotel Watch using the Sussex alerts system. The platform allows Sussex Police to share information with registered hotel workers.
Sussex alerts also lets you find out what’s happening in your local area – witness appeals, crime updates, crime prevention advice and news.
Operation Indicator educates the hotel industry about exploitation, outlining the key strands and covering categories such as child sexual exploitation, human trafficking and modern slavery.
The initiative encourages staff working within the hotel sector to identify people who are exhibiting signs of vulnerability and to feel confident to report these concerns to police.
We have developed an educational toolkit to support the training. The toolkit helps staff identify when certain crimes may be occurring on hotel premises.
Should you have any questions, or to order an Operation Indicator toolkit, please email the Hotel Watch team.
