The committee was established in June 2021 and incorporates 15 external members, 5 internal members and 1 external chair. The meetings take place on a bi-monthly basis with subject matter experts presenting each topic.
The Ethics Committee is responsible for enhancing external and internal trust and confidence in the Ethical governance and actions of Sussex Police. It will support the organisation by identifying organisation improvement and opportunities to promote the core values of integrity, impartiality, public service and transparency. The aim of the Committee is to provide advice and support to decision makers.
