Local Policing is organised into 3 divisions, each comprising Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) based within district teams. NPTs provide community engagement, foot patrols and assist local and partnership problem-solving. NPTs are led by a District Commander and comprise sergeants, police officers and PCSOs.
These work with youth, licensing and enforcement officers. Also, investigators, specialists, and police staff within divisions and across Sussex Police support NPTs to protect communities and catch criminals.
Retail Harm/Shop Lifting
Issued 22 April 2026
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will target persistent offenders and engage with partners and local businesses to offer support, conduct preventative work where appropriate and patrol areas of concern.I patrol and speak with the manager most days that I am on, but nothing happens when I am there, they only report it through the Tesco app not DISC or Police. I have since spoken to the manager, updated when there regular shop lifters are wanted and asked them to call in on the 9’s when they attend. This has helped get a few people in the last couple of weeks.
Our PCSO's visit local retailers offering advice on how to report retail crime which includes shoplifting and abuse towards staff and customers.
Additionally, we support 'Shop Kind' campaigns throughout the year, raising public awareness on retail crime.

Drug use and dealing in local park- Goffs Park
Outside Crawley Library
Issued 22 April 2026
I have been made aware of some drug dealing outside Crawley library and I have seen the same lads gather in the park so this might be possibly linked/ they could be the drug dealers. We have had a lot of racial abuse from the youths in the skate park towards the residents in Arora hotel, this is the same for Goffs park, I am going to be working with the hotel to communicate the issues with the residents, this will consist of a presentation that can be used by everyone to help the residents settle into the area. I am also working with a local skater to restore the skating community with the intention to reduce the crime rates in the park.- On going plans and actions
