Youth related crime and disorder (e.g. youth related ASB, large groups or threatening behaviours)

•Increased patrols in areas of Langney following fall out of youth related crime and disorder from areas of the Sovereign Harbour and Langney Shopping Centre.

•Neighbourhood Youth Officers committed to visiting local schools with assemblies and talks held around ASB and low impact crimes, to engage with youngsters, and look at encouraging them into local groups or sports events as an alternative to causing ASB in the area - this is key to providing early support, building positive relationships, as we continue working with partners/schools to divert individuals away from offending behaviour.

•Additional patrols of open green spaces and parks in the area, with officers activity engaging with youngsters and encouraging them into local groups or sports events in the town as an alternative to causing ASB in the area.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) inc. addressing and taking action against ASB in the form of nuisance noise, dangerous driving and ASB associated with, such as noisy cars or motorbikes.

Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings.

Addressing and taking action against ASB in the form of nuisance noise, such as noisy cars or motorbikes.

•Officers are tackling ongoing anti-social, nuisance and dangerous riding of bikes, e-bikes and scooters around the area with increased high-visibility patrols - further activities are planned to continue addressing concerns.

•Neighbourhood Youth Officers continue to get into schools to engage with youngsters at key stages of devolvement to discuss ASB, low level crime and the effects actions can have on communities, officers also drop in regularly on youth groups to engage with youngsters, as well as to identify those involved in recent shoplifting and ASB driving.
