Local Policing is organised into 3 divisions, each comprising Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) based within district teams. NPTs provide community engagement, foot patrols and assist local and partnership problem-solving. NPTs are led by a District Commander and comprise sergeants, police officers and PCSOs.
These work with youth, licensing and enforcement officers. Also, investigators, specialists, and police staff within divisions and across Sussex Police support NPTs to protect communities and catch criminals.
Anti-social behaviour (ASB), and youth related crime and disorder (e.g. youth related ASB, large groups or threatening behaviours)
Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings.
Issued 01 June 2026
• Continued work alongside partners and youth organisations, including schools and colleges to identify opportunities for early intervention with individuals at risk of causing ASB.
• Additional patrols in local parks, and open green spaces in the area to address and take action against reports of ASB in the form of nuisance caused by youngsters in the area.
• Work continues with roads safety units to conduct enforcement and educational checks in areas of reported ASB driving associated with off road bikes, and e-scooters.
