Local Policing is organised into 3 divisions, each comprising Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) based within district teams. NPTs provide community engagement, foot patrols and assist local and partnership problem-solving. NPTs are led by a District Commander and comprise sergeants, police officers and PCSOs.
These work with youth, licensing and enforcement officers. Also, investigators, specialists, and police staff within divisions and across Sussex Police support NPTs to protect communities and catch criminals.
Anti-Social Behaviour
Issued 11 June 2026
We are intensifying our efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour through targeted, high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas. Officers are proactively identifying individuals responsible and addressing their behaviour through a range of proportionate and preventative measures.
These include delivering words of advice, building positive relationships with young people, engaging with parents and guardians, conducting community surveys to better understand local concerns, and issuing Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) where appropriate. This multi-faceted approach is designed to mitigate harm, prevent escalation, and provide early intervention.

Anti-social Driving / Theft of vehicles
Issued 11 June 2026
We have taken firm action to tackle anti-social driving and vehicle theft across the district. Targeted patrols and intelligence-led operations have resulted in multiple arrests, disrupting those responsible and reducing risk to the public.
Our officers continue to work closely with the community to identify offenders and gather information, ensuring swift enforcement and ongoing prevention. We remain committed to keeping roads safe and protecting property from criminal activity.
