  • Priority:

    Public Place Violence

    Issued 06 June 2026

    Action taken:

We have significantly increased high-visibility patrols, particularly during late evenings and night-time economy hours, to deter violent behaviour and respond swiftly to any emerging incidents. Our officers also maintain a strong daytime presence to prevent disorder and provide visible reassurance to the public.
Through proactive policing, we have taken robust action against those involved in violent disorder. Arrests have been made where offences have occurred, and we continue to use the full range of policing powers available, including dispersal orders and Criminal Behaviour Orders, to disrupt offending and prevent further harm.
We are working closely with partner agencies to raise awareness of available support channels, reporting mechanisms, and safety advice remains central to our approach.
Our strategy is rooted in prevention, early intervention, and firm enforcement.

  • Priority:

    Robbery and Public Order

    Issued 06 March 2026

    Action taken:

We have taken decisive action to address robbery and public order offences in the area. Officers are conducting regular, targeted patrols throughout the day and evening to deter criminal behaviour and respond swiftly to incidents.

We continue to work closely with the community to identify offenders and prevent further harm. By maintaining a strong visible presence and acting on local intelligence, we are committed to keeping public spaces safe and ensuring those responsible are held to account.

  • Priority:

    Business Crime / Shoplifting

    Issued 06 June 2026

    Action taken:

We have been actively working with local businesses to tackle shoplifting and reduce retail crime. Through regular engagement and partnership working, officers have helped identify repeat offenders, leading to arrests and enforcement action.

The introduction of the DISC system has strengthened this approach, allowing businesses to share real-time intelligence with each other and with police. This has enabled us to take preventative measures—such as deterring known offenders from entering premises—and respond swiftly when offences occur. Our proactive efforts continue to support businesses and protect retail spaces from persistent criminality.
