ASB (anti-social behaviour) and youth related crime and disorder (e.g. youth related ASB, large groups or threatening behaviours, low level criminality)
Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings.
Issued 01 June 2026
•Ongoing work with partners and youth organisations, including schools and colleges to identify opportunities for early intervention with individuals at risk of causing ASB.
•Engagement events continue as an opportunity for residents to raise concerns and highlight areas of ASB direct to officer, all reports help to assist officers in their patrol locations to ensure together we are providing a police presence in areas which have seen an increase in ASB.
•Officers also continue to engage with young people to identify those at risk of becoming involved in ASB, providing early support, building positive relationships, and working with partners to divert individuals away from offending behaviour and towards more constructive activities.

•Future days of actions planned, following a recent (April) day of action target ASB driving on the roads of Seaford and along the coast around excess speeding; which led to a number of positive stops and vehicle seizures. (Details of which were posted to our Lewes Police Facebook page at the time to help keep residents updated).
