Local Policing is organised into 3 divisions, each comprising Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) based within district teams. NPTs provide community engagement, foot patrols and assist local and partnership problem-solving. NPTs are led by a District Commander and comprise sergeants, police officers and PCSOs.
These work with youth, licensing and enforcement officers. Also, investigators, specialists, and police staff within divisions and across Sussex Police support NPTs to protect communities and catch criminals.
Antisocial Behaviour - Youth Related

The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to carry out regular patrols, focusing on areas where reports of ASB have been made.
We work closely with partners to tackle this type of behaviour, identify those responsible, and manage persistent offenders and locations.
We also continue to carry out intervention work with local schools and youth groups through our dedicated Neighbourhood Youth Officers.

Antisocial Driving - Speeding

We are engaging with local communities and stakeholders to listen to their concerns surrounding anti-social road related issues.
We continue to support and promote force-wide campaigns, targeted operations with specialist units, and road related activity including Operation Downsway deployments.
We also liaise with local Community Speedwatch groups, deploy officers for speed checks, as well as encourage residents to utilise the Operation Crackdown service for reporting.

Retail Crime

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will target persistent offenders and engage with partners and local businesses to offer support, conduct preventative work where appropriate and patrol areas of concern.
Our PCSO's visit local retailers offering advice on how to report retail crime which includes shoplifting and abuse towards staff and customers.
Additionally, we support 'Shop Kind' campaigns throughout the year, raising public awareness on retail crime.
