Speeding.

We have collaborated our efforts with Speedwatch volunteers operating throughout Marsham, with a particular focus on promoting road safety. These initiatives are aimed at educating drivers about the dangers of excessive speed and increasing public awareness of the significant risks it poses to both motorists and pedestrians. Through regular engagement and visibility in the community, Speedwatch volunteers play a vital role in encouraging responsible driving behaviour and supporting our broader road safety objectives.

In addition, we have been actively working with Guestling Parish Council to address ongoing concerns regarding the use of narrow rural lanes by large vehicles. These concerns include issues related to road damage, safety risks for local residents, and the disruption caused to the surrounding environment. Our discussions have centred on identifying practical solutions, such as improved signage, potential traffic restrictions, and raising awareness among haulage companies and drivers about the unsuitability of certain routes for heavy goods vehicles.

Rogue Traders / Cold callers.

We have continued our proactive prevention work around the issues of Rogue Traders and Cold Callers, recognising the impact these activities can have on vulnerable members of the community. As part of our efforts, we’ve attended a number of local events and community street meetings, using these opportunities to raise awareness, share practical advice, and engage directly with residents. These interactions have helped to reinforce key messages around staying vigilant, reporting suspicious behaviour, and supporting neighbours who may be at greater risk.

Rural Crime

We continue to work closely with the Rural Crime Team to tackle key issues affecting our countryside communities, including farm machinery theft, poaching, and sheep worrying. Police officers have conducted targeted patrols in known hotspot areas, offering reassurance to landowners and gathering intelligence to support ongoing investigations. In addition, joint visits have been carried out with farmers and land managers to assess vulnerabilities and provide crime prevention advice, such as the use of tracking devices, secure storage solutions, and signage.
