Local Policing is organised into 3 divisions, each comprising Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) based within district teams. NPTs provide community engagement, foot patrols and assist local and partnership problem-solving. NPTs are led by a District Commander and comprise sergeants, police officers and PCSOs.
These work with youth, licensing and enforcement officers. Also, investigators, specialists, and police staff within divisions and across Sussex Police support NPTs to protect communities and catch criminals.

The Strand – Anti-Social Behaviour and Drug Activity Update
We’ve received reports of anti-social behaviour in The Strand area, including incidents of shoplifting and suspected drug activities.
In response, the Neighbourhood Policing Team is conducting regular high-visibility patrols, focusing on hot spot areas identified through community reports.
We remain committed to tackling this behaviour and working with local partners to ensure the safety and well being of residents and businesses.

Antisocial Driving and Speeding

The Neighbourhood Policing Team is continuing their targeted patrols and working closely with partner agencies, including local councils and road safety teams, to address the issue. This includes speed monitoring, engagement with drivers, and enforcement where necessary.
We are committed to improving road safety and reducing dangerous driving behaviours to help keep our roads and communities safe.
