Anti-social behaviour (ASB) and ASB driving/nuisance bikes
Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings, including ASB associated with off road bikes, e-scooter and other forms of transport causing concerns to local residents.

•Additional patrols of open green spaces, car parks, abandoned buildings and parks in the area continue as areas of regular reporting/concerns for members of the community.
•In recent weeks, officers from various local policing teams, including the Fatal Five Unit and your Lewes Neighbourhood Policing Team, have been carrying out proactive patrols along coastal areas following incidents involving off-road bikes and anti-social driving, already two off road bikes have been seized from the roads, following ASB and dangerous driving in an around Newhaven, one being in the Fort Road area.
•Neighbourhood Youth Officers continue to get into schools to engage with youngsters at key stages of devolvement to discuss ASB, low level crime and the effects actions can have on communities, officers also continue to regularly drop into the Newhaven Youth Centre to engage with youngsters both during and outside of term-times.
•Officers also continue to engage with young people to identify those at risk of becoming involved in ASB, providing early support, building positive relationships, and working with partners to divert individuals away from offending behaviour and towards more constructive activities.

Operation Downsway / speeding
Our yearly campaign to address community concerns around road and driving related offences that fall into the fatal 5 driving offences, including speeding which has been raised as a priority/issue in the local area.

•Extra patrols, educational and enforcement activities across the district continue into the coming months, focused on targeting excess speed, distracted driving, as well as mobile phone use.
•Following recent meetings, issues with speeding raise, PCSOs looking to work alongside Roads Safety Unit and Community Speed Watch to set up future enforcement checks in the area, as well as encourage reporting and joining CSW with leaflets already given to both councils, and residents.
